East End Beach

East End Beach

Living in Portland, Maine, means enjoying its dazzling waterfront, walkable downtown, and a series of beautiful beaches. You can also enjoy the city’s delicious food scene and its relatively competitive housing market.

Swimmers hit the water in summer, and kiteboarders skim the water’s surface. Others prefer to walk the soft sands of Old Orchard Beach or scream their heads off at Palace Playland, a lively beachside amusement park. Read on to know more.

Dogs allowed

Dogs are welcome at most Maine beaches as long as they can handle the over-stimulation and follow voice commands. They must also pick up after themselves and not trample sand dune vegetation. This is the best way to keep Maine beaches dog-friendly for years to come!

If you want to spend the day at the beach with your dog, be sure to bring a leash and water. During the low season, dogs are allowed off-leash from 9 AM to 5 PM and on-leash during the rest of the year.

If you’re looking for a place to grab a bite with your pup, head to the East End and check out Portland Lobster Company. This local favorite serves up fresh seafood and a classic Maine feel on its large deck. They also have live music and Shipyard beer on tap. Their patio is dog-friendly.

Pets allowed

Pet-friendly hotels in Portland are a great option for vacationers who want to stay close to the beach. This downtown hotel is located on the waterfront and features a dog-friendly policy of up to 75lbs with a one-time $75 pet fee. It is also a short walk from the Eastern Promenade Trail and many popular attractions, such as Victoria Mansion and McLellan-Sweat Mansion.

East End Beach is a beautiful sand and pebble beach with expansive views of Casco Bay. It is the only public beach in the city of Portland and offers swimming, a boat launch, and a public toilet. Dogs are allowed on the beach before 9 am and after 5 pm during the summer and can be off-leash if they can respond to voice commands.

After a day at the beach, take a walk along the Eastern Promenade Trail and enjoy the scenery and local wildlife. Then, head over to a nearby dog-friendly restaurant for dinner. There are plenty of options to choose from, including The Porthole, BP’s Shuck Shack, and Hot Suppa. Check it out here.

Located at the eastern end of the Promenade, this public beach offers a wide stretch of sand and pebble shoreline that faces Casco Bay. During the summer, it’s perfect for swimming and relaxing under the sun. It’s also a great place to picnic with stunning views of the Fort Gorge and Portland Harbor.

During the warmer months, you’ll find plenty of people strolling along this beach and enjoying the beautiful scenery. But in the winter, you’ll find fewer people here. This is because Maine has a harsh winter climate, so you’ll need to bring a warm coat and Bean boots.

During the summer, you can join the crowds at Old Orchard for some sunbathing and chowing down on lobster rolls and hot dogs. The pier at Old Orchard is home to bars, restaurants, and Palace Playland, an amusement park with rides that kids will enjoy. There are also outdoor showers and a snack shack at the beach.

Located near the eastern end of the Harborwalk Trail, East End Beach is a scenic place to take in the view and have a picnic. It is also an ideal place to launch kayaks. The beach also has a public boat launch and restrooms during the summer months. The area is dog-friendly and is a great spot for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing.

Maine’s beaches may be known for their relatively chilly waters, but the state’s oceanfront attractions still offer a range of atmospheres and activities to suit any taste. While some beaches are reserved for families and vacationers, others attract locals who enjoy a calm walk along the sand or a refreshing dip in Casco Bay.

Street parking is available in the area, but spots fill up quickly during the summer. Visitors can also purchase a Passport Parking card for free unlimited parking in metered and zoned spaces throughout the city, except during posted time limits. Next blog post.
